      • How does the auto mode work. During sunshine I want to the retrofit to recharge the battery as well as supply power to the inverter without allowing the inverter to either use the grid power or draining the battery. Does the auto mode of the retrofit allows this. Kindly send me the technical brochure if possible by email. Thanks

        Solar retrofit has 100% solar charging mode. if you keep this mode on, then it will not use grid power to charge the battery and supply the load. 

      • Is Solar Retrofit a PWM or MPPT charge controller?

        Solar retrofit is PWM based controller. 

      • is this solar charge controller?

        Solar Retrofit is the advanced version of solar charge controller. It plays the role of Charge controller in converting existing inverter and Battery combo into solar solutions. 

      • Is it only charging the battery from solar and also runs the load from direct solar without using battery power? In the day time If battery is fully charged then what happen with the rest of solar power ? Need answer as soon as possible. Thank you.

        Luminous solar retrofit makes conventional (Normal) inverter into intelligent solar hybrid inverter. Once your system becomes hybrid, following things would happen.
        a) Inverter will utilize maximum solar power for charging battery.
        b) if solar panel generation is in excess, the inverter will charge the battery Plus suplus power generation (togal generation - Solar power generation used in charging the battery) will be supplied to connected load. 
        c) if battery is fully charged, Solar generation will be used to power connected load.

      • Can I use for 12v 150ah flat plate battery& 300wt panel how much panels in future increase

        Solar Retrofit can work with 12 V battery and upto 800 watts of solar panel could be connected. Hence, you can easily connect 12 V- 150 AH battery and maximum of 800 watts of solar panel. 

      • Excellent product, but very limited information on how to connect. If you provide a simple wiring diagram, people can buy the production and local electrician can easily install it. Please provide a wiring diagram that I can show to electrician.

The connection diagram is also mentioned in product manual, So once, you buy the proudct, you would come to know -How to install retrofit with already installed inverter battery system. 

      • Retrofit indicate battery full

        Solar retrofit solution 20 amp has indication to show Grid Charging, Solar Charging, Gird/Solar Charging, but it does not have battery charging level indication. 

      • I have purchased retrofit I want the retrofit to recharge the battery as well as supply power to the inverter with out using the main power which model it must be

        Luminous Solar retrofit comes in 20 ampere 12V/24V rating and 50 ampere 96 Volt rating. Selection of Retrofit depends on Inverter system. For 12V inverter system, 12 V retrofit should be bought, for 24 V Inverter system, 24 V retrofit should be bought. Since retrofit converts normal inverter into solar intelligent hybrid inverter, you do not need to worry about charing of battery and supplying load from the Grid. Solar Retorit is an intelligent system, it charges the battery from Solar panel and if solar generation is in excess, it will also supply the power to connected load from solar panel without using grid power. 

      • I want the retrofit to recharge the battery as well as supply power to the inverter for 3nos of fan and 18w led tubelight 4nos how many 100w panel are required 2) I want the retrofit to recharge the battery as I visited this place once a month after the retrofit recharge the better does it stop charge

        The role of retrofit is to convert normal inverter into hybrid solar inverter. Retrofit is upgraded version of solar charge controller, i.e. it can charge the battery and can also supply the power to connected load based upon solar generation. Since you want to use 3 fans (70 watts) and 4 Tube lights (18 watts). your total power consumption is 210 Watts + 72 Watts = 282 watts. for calculating how much solar panel is required, pleaes follow the formula.

        Solar Panel requirement = Total power consumption / No. of sunshine hours. 

        let's assume, you want to run 282 watts of power for 10 hours (mainly night), Total power consumption is = 2820 watts, In India, usually, 8 hours of good sunshine available.

        Solar panel requirement = 2820 watts / 8 = 352 watts, i.e you should buy 1 no. of 150 watt panel and 2 numbers of 100 watt panel.

      • If battery full then how stop charging prevent from over charge (damage) battery life is it stop charging

        Solar retrofit is an intelligent system that comes with many protections such asshort circuit, over voltage, over current, over charge and deep discharge, So you should not worry about battery life if  you are using Luminous brand retrofit.

        Solar Retrofit model 1220 comes with many protections to save connected appliances and systems such as Inverter Battery. The inbuilt 'over charge protection' stops inverter to charge the battery, if the battery charging level is full.

        There are three modes in Retorfit. the explanatin is as follows
        1) Auto and Manual - Keep Auto mode on if you want the retrofit to take the intelligence, in Auto mode, battery will be charged from Solar and Grid both depending upon availability of power source.
        2) If you switch on Manual mode, then only the second switch stars functioning i.e. (Charger and 100% Solar)
        3) if you keep charger mode on, your battery will be charged from Grid, and if you keep 100% solar on, Battery will be charged from solar only.
        4) the last switch is for battery type selection - Flat plate and Tubular battery.
